Simulating Atmospheric Characteristics and Daytime Astronomical Seeing Using Weather Research and Forecasting Model

The present study is aimed at the development of a novel empirical base for application to ground-based astronomical telescopes. A Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model used description atmospheric flow structure with high spatial resolution within Baikal Astrophysical Observatory (BAO) region. Mesoscale vortex structures are found boundary layer, which affect quality images. results simulations show that upward air motions in lower atmosphere suppressed both above cold surface Lake inside mesoscale eddy structures. outer scale turbulence BAO developed.
